Tahbilk Wines at the 2026 World’s Longest Lunch

We’re very proud to share that Tahbilk will be the official wine sponsor for the 2026 World’s Longest Lunch, presented by La Trobe Financial as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. This year’s Lunch celebrates Greek Melbourne, highlighting the city’s vibrant Greek dining culture with some of the most exciting culinary talent at the table. melbournefoodandwine.com.au

📅 What’s Happening

On Friday, 20 March 2026, over 1,600 guests will gather in Kings Domain, Melbourne for one of the festival’s most talked-about long-table experiences. Stretching over 600 metres, the Lunch is a celebration of food, wine, and community — all under Melbourne’s own sunshine, with Tahbilk wines perfectly paired with each dish.

🍽️ Celebrating Greek Cuisine

The menu showcases some of Melbourne’s most exciting Greek-inspired chefs. Ella Mittas, chef, caterer, and food writer, brings her modern, seasonal approach to Greek meze. Her dishes are vibrant and designed to encourage sharing, with flavours that highlight the best of seasonal ingredients. Guests can learn more about Ella’s culinary work via her website: ellamittas.com.

Alex Xinis, chef and owner of Tzaki in Yarraville, brings his signature slow-roasted lamb shoulder with braised chickpeas and mustard greens. Inspired by Athens’ traditional tavernas, Alex combines authentic Greek flavours with a contemporary Melbourne twist. Discover more about Tzaki here: tzaki.au.

Rounding out the menu, Con Christopoulos and Stav Konis of Kafeneion in Melbourne CBD provide a memorable sweet finale with their classic portokalopita, a Greek orange filo cake that has become a favourite of their diners. Known for bringing the heart of Greek hospitality to the city’s dining scene, they complete the lunch with a touch of creativity and tradition. More about their restaurant can be found at kafeneion.com.au.

Each of these talented chefs’ dishes will be paired with Tahbilk wines, poured in Plumm glasses, to enhance the flavours of the lunch and highlight the character of our estate-grown wines.

🍷 More Than Just Food

The day goes beyond dining, with contributions from Melbourne’s leading food and beverage brands. Beer is provided by Holgate Brewhouse, while still and sparkling water comes from Capi. Five Senses and La Marzocco supply coffee, including a chance to win a La Marzocco coffee machine on the day. Service staff are outfitted by Worktones, and every guest receives MECCA COSMETICA’s Brightening Sun Serum SPF50+.

Guests can also enjoy the Oceania Cruises® Lounge, featuring Greek-inspired meze from Vanilla Lounge, Greek-style cocktails, fine local ouzo from Otways Distillery, and a chance to win a 12-night luxury cruise aboard Oceania Riviera valued at $22,000. Live music adds to the festive atmosphere, capturing the lively spirit of Greek Melbourne.
