Tahbilk Wetlands Eco-Trail ~ Weighted Walking Program

Join a Unique Fitness Research Project – Right Here at Tahbilk

At Tahbilk Estate, we’re proud to support initiatives that promote health, wellbeing and our beautiful natural environment. That’s why we’re excited to share a new opportunity for locals and visitors alike to take part in a unique fitness research study – right here on our Tahbilk Wetlands Eco-Trail.

In partnership with La Trobe University’s School of Rural Health, researchers are investigating the benefits of weighted walking – a simple concept with the potential to improve cardiovascular and musculoskeletal fitness, as well as body composition.

Where nature meets science
Participants in the study will walk along our scenic 6km Wetlands trail, guided by an exercise scientist. With its peaceful waterways, diverse birdlife and iconic red gums, the trail is the perfect place to take part in meaningful research while surrounded by nature.
