Reflective of the cooling influence that comes from the abundance of lakes, billabongs and creeks associated with the Goulburn River and Lake Nagambie itself, Tahbilk Estate Reds tend to be more subtle and elegant with their medium-bodied flavour profile complimenting foods.
Which sets them quite deliciously for the more alfresco style of dining and enjoyment to come over the next few months, something our Estate Rose was born to do!
Your ‘Tahbilk Summer Reds & Rose Six’ awaits ...

About this winei

Tahbilk Estate is situated within the sub region Nagambie Lakes; within the Goulburn Valley located in Victoria, north of Melbourne, one of only eight inland wine regions worldwide dramatically influenced by its location to large bodies of water The Goulburn Valley is known as distinctly warm, with a typical inland valley-floor climate and substantial diurnal temperature ranges. The heat is mitigated by the abundance of lakes, billabongs and creeks associated with the Warring or Goulburn River.

In 1993, the Nagambie Lakes Wine Region was recognised by Wine Australia as distinctly different to the broader locale of the Goulburn Valley due to the large bodies of water in the region, including Lake Nagambie. As well as recognising the region’s unique soil type which is rich in iron oxide (Duplex 2.2); which has a positive effect on grape quality and gives the wines a defined regional character.

Tahbilk wines are made so they retain their iconic quality and have a style that cannot be matched in the new world way of making wine.
A light touch approach which focuses on the importance of terroir. The terroir relates to ensuring the specific qualities of the land our grapes are grown is enriched and shines through in all of our wines.

Tasting Notei

Tahbilk 2022 Shiraz |14.5% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2035/2039 Plus
A few swirls of the glass has ripe plum, blackberry and violet aromas coming through, with white pepper and boysenberry rounding out the nose.
The palate has a surprising initial softness … the tannin glides across the back. There is a tart cranberry acidity that knocks the balance off making it a little bit more crunchy drinking young but will do okay with a bit of age under its belt. Very much a cool climate style Shiraz which is reflective of the 2022 vintage.
Drink now over the next 2 years, rest for the following 3-5 years, then enjoy for the next 10 years.

Tahbilk 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2034/2037
Vibrant purple colour in the glass. Typical herbal characters shine through on the nose; eucalyptus, spearmint and cocoa nibs alongside delicate blueberry, blackberry and subtle rose florals.
Intense fruit immediately hits the palate; fresh blueberries, wild berries and blackberries. Tannins are tight … feeling a little green and youthful ... however this will even out with time.
The acidity is atypical of the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal. Herbaceous edges with tomato and blackberry leaf. The wine’s structure has all the elements to age well in bottle. Drink now and then age 12 years and reap the benefits.

Tahbilk 2024 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2028/2030
Whilst presenting its own challenges, with a mad rush of ripening, vintage 2024 delivered very good to outstanding wines, deliciously reflected here
with this juicy, multilayered triple blend.
Savoury and earthy aromatics grace a flavoursome palate of dark plum and berry fruits with liquorice and spice notes.

Tahbilk 2023 Cabernet Franc | 13.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2028/2030
This Cabernet Franc release is indicative of the wonderful depth of flavour and character of our 2023 Estate Reds  … fresh raspberry, violet and tobacco notes comfortably nestle on a ripe red berry fruits palate teased out with capsicum and spice hints. In a word ... delicious!

Tahbilk 2024 Grenache | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2029/2031
Teamed with Shiraz and Mourvèdre in our popular GSM blend and equally in the highly regarded Grenche Mourvèdre Rose, here we allow our Estate Grenache to stand alone and shine in its own right.
With the character that vine maturity brings, our twenty-year-old plantings have delivered a juicy and vibrant release. Aromatic raspberry and cherry fruits with sweet spice and oregano notes are joined by floral and savoury characters on a fresh and expressive palate. A wine for the here and now … and tomorrow.

Tahbilk 2024 Grenache Mourvedre Rose | 13.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2027/2028
A marriage of Grenache and Mourvedre from the highly regarded Estate 2025 vintage has delivered a deliciously dry and zesty Rosé guaranteed to keep Summer alive no matter the season. Vibrant and juicy red berry and cherry ripe fruits sit lusciously alongside textural musk and savoury nuances with the entire package enlivened by a refreshing grape acidity … delish!
