A truly sublime ‘best of vintage’ release that will reward cellaring.
Tahbilk 2016 'Museum Release' Cabernet Sauvignon
Halliday 91 Points | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2030/2034
Great colour evolution reflecting time spent in bottle. Aged, also known as secondary, characters immediately hit the nose. Forest floor, mulch, freshly picked mushrooms. The fruit is dried; dried blueberries, dried figs, dried goji berries. Subtle charred oak creating depth of aromas on the nose. Their is a youthfulness on the palate still shining through, lifted by tart blueberry and cranberry juice. More of the dried secondary notes on the palate ... savoury black truffle and charred oak. This aged Cabernet Sauvignon is full of complexity and tannins providing a lovely backbone to the wine and supporting further development.
Tahbilk 2021 'Old Vines' Cabernet Shiraz
Halliday 95 Points | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2030/2036
Blessed as we are on the Estate with significant old vine plantings, and the character that these mature vines bring, then an ‘Old Vines’ release from a highly rated vintage is eagerly anticipated. Richly flavoured and expressive, bay leaf, mint and tobacco aromas are joined by plum and berry fruits on a sinuous palate, with time in oak adding further intricacy to an impressive release that will realise added character with time in the bottle
