An Autumnal Invitation: New Release Reds at Tahbilk
Autumn at Tahbilk carries a particular energy. The light softens across the estate, the vines begin their slow shift in colour, and in the winery, the rhythm of vintage hums in the background. It’s a season that naturally draws us to red wine, to texture, spice, depth and the quiet pleasure of sharing a glass with intention.
This March, we invite you to join us at our Cellar Door for An Autumnal Tasting: New Release Reds & Small Bites, a guided experience celebrating three wines we are especially proud to release from the 2025 vintage: Grenache, Mourvèdre and Tempranillo.
These varieties each bring something distinctive to the Tahbilk story.
Grenache offers vibrancy and lifted red fruit, with a generosity that feels perfectly suited to autumn afternoons. It’s expressive and approachable, yet layered, a wine that rewards both casual enjoyment and closer attention.
Mourvèdre provides depth and quiet power. Rich, grounded and complex, it anchors the tasting with darker fruit characters and a long, savoury finish, a reminder of the patience and craftsmanship behind each bottle.
Tempranillo speaks to structure and elegance. With its savoury edge and fine tannin line, it brings poise to the trio. It’s a variety that continues to find a strong sense of place here, reflecting both the warmth of our region and the considered work in the vineyard and cellar.
Together, these three wines showcase the breadth of our estate and the direction of our red program. They are wines shaped by the 2025 vintage and guided by our commitment to balance, longevity and authenticity. Sharing them is not simply about pouring a glass; it is about opening a conversation.
Each tasting session is intimate by design, allowing space to explore the wines thoughtfully. Guests will be guided through the vintage conditions, varietal characteristics, food pairing considerations and cellaring potential. Small savoury bites will accompany the wines, created to complement and enhance the tasting experience while keeping the focus firmly on the glass.
For our Wine Club members, this event is an opportunity to experience these new releases in context, to hear the stories behind them and to taste them as we intended. For those discovering Tahbilk for the first time, it offers a welcoming introduction to our estate, our philosophy and the enduring character of our reds.
Autumn is a season of transition, reflection and anticipation. We would be delighted to share it with you, glass in hand, stories unfolding, and Grenache, Mourvèdre and Tempranillo taking their place at the table.
