A Sparkling Day at Tahbilk: Celebrating Four Trophies at the 2025 Victorian Wine Show

Friday 14 November 2025

Yesterday was one for the history books at Tahbilk Estate Restaurant, where we had the honour of hosting the 2025 Victorian Wine Show — a gathering that brought together some of the state’s finest wines, winemakers, and industry voices under one roof.

And yes… we’re still riding the high.

Tahbilk walked away with four major trophies, a result that speaks volumes about the dedication, craftsmanship, and long-view winemaking that have defined this estate for generations.

A Look at the Victorian Wine Show

The Victorian Wine Show is one of the state’s most respected annual wine competitions, designed to highlight excellence and innovation across Victoria’s wine regions. Hundreds of entries are assessed blind by an experienced panel of judges — a mix of senior winemakers, industry leaders, and trained palates who evaluate wines for balance, varietal expression, technical precision, and overall quality.

The judging is rigorous, fair, and completely independent, making trophy results something worth celebrating. Hosting these judges, stewards, and exhibitors at Tahbilk added a real sense of occasion, and it was a privilege to showcase our historic estate as the backdrop for such an important industry event.

Our Trophy Winners

Each award highlights a different strength of our vineyards and winemaking team — from Mediterranean whites thriving in Nagambie Lakes’ distinct climate to a rosé crafted with clarity and finesse. Our trophy winners were:

  • 2025 Tahbilk Fiano
    🏆 Trophy: Best Italian Variety
Taking home its second trophy, this Fiano continues to prove how naturally the variety thrives in Nagambie Lakes.

  • 2025 Tahbilk Albariño
    🏆 Trophy: Best Iberian Variety
A crisp, textural expression that shows just how much potential Iberian whites have in our climate.

  • 2025 Dalfarras Rosé
    🏆 Trophy: Best Rosé
Bright, expressive, and vibrant — a standout in one of the hottest categories.

  • Colin J Richardson Memorial Trophy – Most Successful Exhibitor
🏆 Awarded for outstanding consistency and quality across our full range of submissions.

From the Winemakers

Tahbilk Winemaker Jo Nash reflected on the day:

“Hosting the Victorian Wine Show here at Tahbilk feels incredibly special. These vineyards have seen generations of hard work, so to welcome the industry onto our home soil — and come away with four trophies — means a great deal. Alan, Brendan, and Olivia have each played a key role in shaping these wines, and having Lachie lending a hand from the Tahbilk family brought an extra sense of pride. It’s a reminder of how strongly place, people, and teamwork are woven together here.”

A Moment of Pride

Hosting the Victorian Wine Show at Tahbilk Estate Restaurant added a meaningful layer to the celebration. This landscape has carried 165 years of stories, challenges, and triumphs. Bringing Victoria’s winemaking community together in a place so deeply rooted in its past felt exactly right.

The atmosphere was warm, upbeat, and full of genuine camaraderie. Glasses were raised, stories were shared, and the room buzzed with the kind of energy that only comes from a community that cares deeply about its craft.

A Big Thank You

To our winemaking team: thank you for your dedication and steady hands.
To everyone who joined us: your support keeps the Victorian wine community strong, connected, and forward-moving.

Four trophies. One unforgettable day. Plenty more ahead.
