Expanding the Heart of Our Cellar Door
The new retail space at Tahbilk Cellar Door is now open — a thoughtfully restored area that honours the past while welcoming the future. Once the bustling centre of winemaking on the estate, this historic building has been opened up to reveal its full length once more, allowing guests to experience the scale and beauty of the original winery as it was first built.
While the space has transformed over time, much of its spirit remains unchanged. Beneath the Cellar Door, the original underground cellar is still in operation — a cool, atmospheric space where Tahbilk wines quietly mature in oak. Above, the new retail area offers room to explore and to linger, surrounded by the stories, craft, and heritage that have shaped this estate since 1860.
The restoration has revealed architectural details long hidden and returned the building to its original character. Light now filters through the windows onto historic brick and timber, each surface carrying the marks of time and the hands that once worked here.
More than an expansion, this new chapter reflects Tahbilk’s vision for how visitors experience the estate. Alongside our bookable tastings at the Cellar Door, this space creates new opportunities for connection — a place for our Wine Club members to gather for exclusive events, tastings, and shared moments that bring the vineyard to life.
As Tahbilk continues to evolve, the refreshed Cellar Door stands as a bridge between past and present — a working winery reborn as a place of welcome, discovery, and enduring connection.
