About this winei

Tahbilk wines are made so they retain their iconic quality and have a style that cannot be matched in the new world way of making wine.
A light touch approach which focuses on the importance of terroir ... pronounced tee-wah …  a French term describing how a specific region's natural environment—soil, climate, and geography—interacts with human viticulture to uniquely influence the taste, aroma, and quality of wine, creating a ‘sense of place’ that defines a wine's character.

Here Tahbilk's unique Estate terroir is reflected in varietals that would call France's Rhone Valley their home ... we have adopted them here and given them our own Tahbilk take.

Tasting Notei

Tahbilk 2025 Grenache | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2030/2032
Following a single varietal run in the mid-2000s, Grenache became an admirable support player alongside Shiraz and Mourvèdre in our popular GSM blend and Grenache Mourvèdre Rosé.
Here it stands once again deliciously on its own. Vibrant and juicy raspberry and cherry summer fruits are graced with herbal, spice and liquorice notes all enlivened by a fresh and crunchy grape acidity … the future looks distinctly rosy for Estate Grenache releases.

Tahbilk 2022 Shiraz | 14.5% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2035/2039 Plus
A few swirls of the glass has ripe plum, blackberry and violet aromas coming through, with white pepper and boysenberry rounding out the nose. The palate has a surprising initial softness … the tannin glides across the back. There is a tart cranberry acidity that knocks the balance off making it a little bit more crunchy drinking young but will do okay with a bit of age under its belt. Very much a cool climate style Shiraz which is reflective of the 2022 vintage.

Tahbilk 2025 Mourvedre | 13.5% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2030/2032
The individual personality of our Tahbilk Estate Mourvèdre shines alone here as it claims a rightful place amongst the Cellar Door range. Earthy and gamey with subtle clove and dried herb characters leading to an explosion of juicy dark plum and brambly berry fruits, encore stand-alone vintages of this robust and deeply flavoured varietal is a given.

Tahbilk 2024 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre | 14.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2028/2030
Whilst presenting its own challenges, with a mad rush of ripening, vintage 2024 delivered very good to outstanding wines, deliciously reflected here with this juicy, multilayered triple blend. Savoury and earthy aromatics grace a flavoursome palate of dark plum and berry fruits with liquorice and spice notes.

Tahbilk 2025 Grenache Mourvedre Rose  | 13.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2027/2028
A marriage of Grenache and Mourvedre from the highly regarded Estate 2025 vintage has delivered a deliciously dry and zesty Rosé guaranteed to keep Summer alive no matter the season. Vibrant and juicy red berry and cherry ripe fruits sit lusciously alongside textural musk and savoury nuances with the entire package enlivened by a refreshing grape acidity … delish!
