Purchased by great-grandfather Reginald Purbrick in 1925, five generations of my family have now been actively involved at Tahbilk, the oldest family-owned winery and vineyard in Victoria.
Tahbilk’s ‘Family Series’ is a celebration of the importance of family given the influence five generations of the Purbrick family have had on the Estate.
Drawing on our well practiced Whites fermentation processes, the grapes are crushed and the must (the juice, skin & pips) is chilled between 5°-10°C before being pumped into computerised grape presses. The juice is then pressed off the skins and pumped into refrigerated and insulated stainless steel tanks, before fermentation with cultured yeast under strict temperature control to maximise flavour and freshness.
The resulting wines are bright and fresh, with intense varietal fruit characters
