Don't Just Take Our Word For It ...
"A rich ruby colour matches the intensity of the nose: blackcurrant, chocolate, leather and gingerbread spice. Leans into a giving palate of broody dark fruits with chalky tannins. Not as full bodied as some Cabernets."

"2022 was regarded as a challenging vintage for Central Victoria. This is always a perennial bargain purchase.
Intense and opaque garnet hue. Dusty cocoa, wet eucalypt leaves, cassis, kirsch, bay leaf, CWA blackberry jam, boysenberry swirl and old pipe tobacco. Modern flesh forward, yet undeniably built for longevity.
There’s an enjoyable flow from the front to the back, with those dusty, firm and plentiful tannins. The finish is dry as a bone with lingering blackberry and bay leaf. Will easily last for 20 years."

"Australians are blessed to be able to enjoy wines of this quality at such reasonable prices. This is one of the stars of a new release package from Tahbilk, a Central Victorian winery that was established back in 1860 and is one of Australia's oldest family-owned wineries. It has been owned and operated by the Purbrick family for a century. Think dark blackcurranty fruit matured mainly in older oak, hints of herbs, spice and classic mint. Very food-friendly and versatile and extremely affordable for a wine that could grace any dinner party."

"The maker consistently suggests that his Cabernet is an understated star.
He's right. Taste this and tell him otherwise, such is the gentle, easygoing, seamless flow of the wine that speaks to the local terroir – the Aussie bush aromas, bay leaf and earth – and the grape that makes it its home with lively black berries, baking spices, leafy herbals and blackstrap licorice.
Supple tannins do the rest. So more-ish."
