An independent, family owned winery established in 1968, McPherson Wines has steadily established itself as Australia’s least well known top twenty winery, happily enjoying their under the radar reputation as a quality, efficient and innovative winemaker for those in the know.
 
McPherson wines are made to be easy-drinking, fruit driven styles with generous mouth-filling flavours. For almost 40 years the McPherson family have been committed to producing high quality wines at an affordable price.
 
A very colourful character, Andrew McPherson has spent his working life making wine and has made an incredible contribution to the Australian Wine Industry. Andrew loves a good Red and a great Sunday lunch, combining the two with family and friends on most weekends.

Andrew McPherson established his winery in 1968 and is known for his famous Australian Shiraz. He has released this special Reserve Shiraz, made from the best grapes of the vintage, as the flagship wine for the McPherson Family Winery.

The grapes for this Reserve Shiraz were picked and crushed during the cool of night, thus ensuring the retention of varietal character, while modern winemaking techniques were employed throughout, all of which help to create the famous McPherson style. Fermentation took place in sweeping arm red fermenters, giving the wine a dense, richer colour and allowing for gentle flavour extraction. Careful attention was also paid to the oak selection for the Shiraz. This wine was aged on French oak for nine months, giving the wine a smooth and elegant oak influence.
