Cane Cut 2017 Marsanne

2017 'Cane Cut' Marsanne

10.5% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2025/2027
It shines as a current vintage release, it develops richness and character with age, it has an individual vineyard release from some of the oldest vines in the world, the winemakers have selected it (see Tahbilk 2014 Winemakers' Selection Marsanne) and it produces a delicious sparkling wine.
The it is of course Marsanne, and it also impresses when crafted as a 'Cane Cut' dessert wine.
The Tahbilk 2017 ‘Cane Cut’ Marsanne is defined by succulent citrus marmalade and tropical fruit characters that sit alongside sweetsmelling
honeysuckle notes, counterbalanced by a clean, minerally freshness that lifts it beyond just its delicious sweetness.
Match with a citrus tart or stinky cheese platter and enjoy!

First planted on the Estate in the 1860’s, Tahbilk has the largest single holding of Marsanne worldwide along with vines dating back to 1927 that are amongst the oldest in the world.
Adding to the Marsanne mystique for Tahbilk has been the addition from the 2011 vintage of a 'Cane Cut' release.
The canes of selected Marsanne vines are cut to allow the fruit to naturally dehydrate. The vine then sustains itself by absorbing water from the grape bunches which then shrivel, concentrating the sugars and flavours which creates a rich and lusciuos wine.
