Launched in August 2009, Australia’s First Families of Wine (AFFW), of which Tahbilk is a founding member, is twelve multi-generational family-owned wineries that recognised a common need to raise the profile of Australia’s wine nationally and internationally.

During the course of the last year we have, alongside other members of AFFW, conducted tastings and functions across the globe as we all followed the group’s Charter to “engage consumers, retailers, restaurateurs and industry colleagues to understand the quality of Australian wine, appreciate its character and the personalities behind the brands.”

We now also have the release of heart & soul – a offering an exclusive look into the winemaking stories of Australia’s First Families of Wine.
Written by Graeme Lofts, each chapter of the book is dedicated to one of the twelve families – Brown Brothers, De Bortoli, Campbells, d’Arenberg, Henschke, Howard Park, Jim Barry, McWilliams, Taylors, Tyrells, Yalumba and of course the best chapter – Tahbilk!

Along with the narrative of each winery are private archival photographs, information on vintages and maps of the regions.
